Freight Operations 2011

The most recent issue of Transportation Research Record (no. 2238) focuses on freight operations.

[This issue] consists of 11 papers that explore evaluating pricing strategies for storage in import container terminals, reducing train turn times, policy and logistical efficiency in a regional context, scheduling under uncertainty for single-hub intermodal freight system, real-time dispatching control, the history of the pony express and extending its operation into the telegraph era, e-logistics systems applications, impact of transportation policies on competitiveness of Brazilian and U.S. soybeans, impacts of off-hour delivery programs, and travel time variability in urban distribution.
