Description: Each year, Georgia state highways are inspected by Managers for deficiencies within the rights of way. A Daytime inspection is performed once every six months, typically in the spring and summer months. A Nighttime inspection is performed every 6 months as well and inspections are done in the fall and winter months. Deficiencies that are found and entered into the Department’s Highway Maintenance Management System (H.M.M.S.) for tracking and scheduling work purposes. This annual inspection supercedes the daily inspections maintenance personnel carry out daily.
