Located in the heart of the Wisconsin Dells resort area in Baraboo (south of Lake Delton), the Great Wolf Lodge & Indoor Water Park is one of the more popular places to vacation with the family. Kids gotta eat (so do adults, to be fair), so you might be wondering what the best family-friendly dining options around Great Wolf Lodge are. Never fear, I’ve gathered the best restaurants near Great Wolf Lodge Wisconsin Dells Baraboo that will satisfy even the pickiest toddlers. These are my own reviews, but I also took a peek at TripAdvisor to make sure that my experience wasn’t atypical and most others agreed with my assessment of each restaurant.
Lodge Wood Fired Grill
Located right at 1400 Great Wolf Drive (yes, it’s one of the restaurants Great Wolf Lodge has on the property) you really can’t beat Lodge Wood Fired Grill for convenience. They’ve got all the American classics like macaroni & cheese, burgers, and wings. They also have a breakfast buffet in the mornings. The food is good, the location is superb, but it does get busy so make sure to reserve a table.
Buffalo Phil’s Pizza & Grille
My kids absolutely love this place. The number one reason? Your food is delivered by a model train. It’s actually pretty fun, I have to admit. The restaurant is on Gasser Road, just off the Wisconsin Dells Pkwy., or you can walk there in 5 minutes from the Great Wolf Lodge, about 0.2 miles down Great Wolf Drive. The pizza is just okay in my opinion, not bad or anything. but not the best I’ve ever had. However, there are so many novel things to entertain the kids including a massive LEGO display that they will be very happy. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes as well so it’s a good option if you have lots of hungry mouths to feed.
MACS Macaroni & Cheese Shop
This one’s a little further out from the Great Wolf Lodge at 0.7 miles, it’s located on the other side of the Wisconsin Dells Parkway but it’s a short drive or a manageable walk if it’s not too hot. As the name would suggest, they serve all kinds of macaroni & cheese from fancy gourmet versions to simple for the kiddos. Even a picky kid will usually brighten at the prospect of mac n’ cheese with a sliced hot dog in it. It’s not healthy by any means (you’re at a macaroni & cheese shop, c’mon live a little), but my favourite is the Hangover Mac. You’re in the Wisconsin Dells, you gotta have at least a little cheese!
Ravina’s Bay Bar & Grill
If you’ve made the trip into Lake Denton from the Great Wolf Lodge, this is one of the more picturesque places to eat in the Wisconsin Dells. Situated right on the waterfront with a nice covered patio, it’s not as catered towards family dining as the other establishments on the list, but if you’ve been at the lake all day it’s a great choice. Friday and Saturday nights there is live music so it gets a bit noisy, but lunch and the rest of the week is quieter. The kids menu is pretty standard: mac and cheese, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, and corn dogs.
